This was my initial attempt at designing a library that would be community orientated and try to draw more people into the library. However this was unsuccessful as the bridges made it less community oriented as people were confined to tight passage ways based on my feedback.

I very much tried to create a titanic like atmosphere to the building, whereby some areas look as if it’s half underwater and sinking (exterior views show it best) but then from the inside you can see it’s designed carefully to allow people to look down to the library beneath.

The entire library is designed with architectural qualities that resemble parts of a submarine and stuff related to the ocean. The domed room was taken from the circular shape from the front of a submarine, and the arched front of the building and the curved design on the domes relate to the waves and how they arch over.
